Ex Anambra Community PG Rallies Support For Soludo’s Re-Election
The Nwanayoeze Achalla Support Group, a grassroots support group in Achalla, Awka North Local Government Area has endorsed the re-election bid of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra
The group which expressed satisfaction with the performance of Soludo in the last three years declared their position during a rally organised at the various village squares across the community.
Mr Charles Okadigbo, a former President General of Achalla Improvement Union and convener of the Nwanayoeze Achalla Support Group said the people of the community were in support of Soludo and would give him their vote on Nov. 8.
Okadigbo who mobilised thousands of women, men and youths of voting age, said the development strides of Soludo and his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim had endeared them to the grassroots across the state.
He said the Governor had shown love for the entire Awka North and kept his campaign promises of giving the farmers a sense of belonging.
Okadigbo, a special adviser to former Gov. Willie Obiano on Agriculture said he was hopeful Soludo would bring more investment and development to Achalla after his re-election.
He appealed to the governor to look into the non conduct of Achalla President General election over a long period for no reason.
“The community is peaceful and with no form of chaos that would warrant the constitution of a caretaker committee, an election should be conducted to reflect the wishes of the people,” he said.
Also speaking, Mr Emeka Iliemena, the Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Awka North Local Government Area listed some of the roads completed by Soludo to include Isuaniocha-Achalla, Amansea-Awba Ofemili, Amansea-Ufuma among others.
Iliemena said Soludo conducted Local Government Council elections in his first tenure showing that he came prepared and would remain focused to do more for the grassroots.
Another Community leader, Chief Obinna Nweke said the Governor deserves the second term to enable him continue the infrastructural development he is embarking upon in all parts of the state.
Addressing the people shortly after the rally , the Palace Secretary to the Traditional Ruler of Achalla, Mr Patrick Nwora said even though he was a non-partisan citizen, he agreed agree with the calls for Governor Soludo to go f
or a second term.
