Ezeonwuka Reiterates Timely Interment Of Deceased Bodies In Igboland
Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, the Spiritual Leader of Igbo Nation has called on Christians especially the people of Southeast Nigeria to bury their loved ones immediately they are confirmed medically dead.
Ezeonwuka also said there was need to embark on atonement and cleansing across Igboland to liberate the society from the land from atrocities committed against the Almighty God and the Angels of heaven.
He said fondling of dead bodies, their preservation in mortuaries and doing business with them was evil and retrogressive.
He said Igbos must copy the way of their forefathers and Islamic way of giving immediate burial to every dead body.
He said instead of celebrating the dead, the love and resources should be used for the welfare of the living.
According to him, criminalising traditional institutions and religious bodies by giving recognitions to the known criminals in the societies.
“Dismantling and destruction of Igbo culture and traditions through adoption of foreign religion which classified our ancestor’s way of life which forbids abominations as idols is unfortunate.
“There is an adage that said show me your friend then I will tell you who you are, this shows that those loving the dead instead of the living are dead people.
“The problem of not burying dead bodies immediately in Igboland include desertion of angels and manufacturing of fears and zombies and ghosts beings possessing the innocent youths to cause terror in the land,” he said.
Ezeonwuka said making ceremony of dead bodies without burying them immediately burial or cremating them affects the transition and the journey of the soul.
According to him, this is an ignorant exercise that must be stopped by the Igbos and the Christians.
