Five ‘Aka Odo’ Taskforce Men Die In Head-On Collision With Truck
Five persons were feared killed in a crash involving tipper truck and 18-seater hiace bus on the Oba axis of Onitsha-Owerri expressway on Friday.
Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred when the bus occupied by operatives of Anambra Anti Cult Agency(SASA) otherwise known as ‘Aka Odo’ boys tried to stop the tipper which was on a high speed but was run over.
No fewer than five occupants of the bus, all members of the anti cult agency were killed in the accident.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the accident and deaths.
They identified the vehicles as a price Toyota bus as UWN763XA, a government-owned Toyota Hummer bus without a registration number, and a Mercedes tipper.
The FRSC in a Statement signed by Margaret B Onabe,Sector Public Education Officer said the posdii cause of the crash was route violation resulting in a head-on collision.
“Five male adults were involved in the crash. Four males lost their lives, and one was injured,” she said.
