Group Congratulates Sir Azuka Okwuosa Over APC Senate Ticket Victory
Ikemba Front, a political support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Chief Azuka Okwuosa for emerging as the candidate of the party for Aug. 16 Anambra South Senatorial by election.
Okwuosa emerged Saturday after polling 480 votes to defeat Mr Obinna Uzor, his sole rival who garnered 57 in the primaries held in Nnewi on Saturday.
Mr Arinzechukwu Awogu, the National Coordinator of Ikemba Front described his emergence as a true reflection of the wishes of the people of Anambra South Senatorial District.
Awogu said APC had demonstrated its readiness to retain the seat left by Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah by electing Okwuosa from the old Nnewi political bloc as its candidate.
He said Okwuosa was a true partyman, a nationalist and one who would consolidate the efforts of late Ubah.
“We therefore, call for unity of purpose as according to them, APC was poised to retain the Anambra South Senatorial seat,” he said.
The APC primary election held in Nnewi on Saturday was to fill the Anambra South Senatorial District vacant seat in the National Assembly.
The election is billed for Aug. 16.
