I Acquired Urum Land Legitimately From Rightful Owners —–Estate Developer
Chief Okechukwu Chukwueme, the Managing Director of Nwagu Heaven Estate has said his acquired the property at Ochiowa land, Urum in Awka North Local Government Area legitimately from the owners.
Chukwueme also known as ‘Nwaguatahihia’ spoke to journalists in Awka in reaction to the claims by Mr Felix Godwin, the President General of Urum Town Union that the community was not aware of the transaction which transferred ownership to him.
Mr Felix Godwin and a fewer others in the town’s land committed had claimed that the land was revered for farming purposes and not sold to any developer.

He said the land was properly purchased, documented and transferred legitimately in accordance to the due process of property acquisition.
He said he bought the land from five Indigenes of the community who owned the land after their unanimous decision to sell it and that the traditional ruler of the community was a witness.
The Realtor expressed regret that the President General of Urum who was just elected not long ago decided to malign him because he refusal to make financial gratification to him.
He noted that the relevant signatories and documentations to the land had been concluded while the process of getting the Certificate of Occupance will soon be successful.
He said the negative public campaign against him was unfortunate at a time when Anambra government was calling on people to invest at home.
Corroborating the businessman, Igwe B. Nweke, the traditional ruler of Urum, said the land in question belonged to some families in the community and not the entire town as insinuated .
Igwe Nweke said it was not in order for the President General of the Community to insist that the land will not be sold by the original owners.
“One part of the land was revoked under the former Governor Willie Obiano administration but it did not affect the area which was owned by some families in Urum,” he said.
Igwe Nweke confirmed that after his investigation, he confirmed that the land in question belonged to the people that sold it to Nwaguatahihia Properties for development.
Also speaking, Mr Ephraim Aniebonam, a representative of the owners of the land from Uruokpala clan, Akitinyi village ,Urum confirmed that the land never belonged to the community.
Mr Aniebonam alongside other familiea wondered why the PG will go ahead to insist that the entire town now have stake
on their inheritance.
