I Represent The Generational Shift Anambra Yearns For… Ezenwafor
Mr Afamefuna Ezenwafor, National Rescue Movement (NRM) candidate in the Nov. 6, governorship election in Anambra, says his emergence as next governor would represent yearning for generational shift by the people.
Ezenwafor, 45-years and native of Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Area said this while fielding questions from journalists in Awka.
The Chemical Engineer described himself as young and richly endowed with the right leadership traits and qualities to serve Anambra in the next political dispensation.
He promised to use the experience garnered from years of residence in the area to implement policies that would harness human capital of the state, according to its manpower needs.
He also said he would make accountability and transparency his watchword as well as reinvigorate the local government system through regular stakeholders meetings and elections.
”I will oversee governance that is inclusive and participatory; merit and good reward shall displace mediocrity, sectionalism, clannishness and discrimination.
“I have acquired the requisite skills, experience and built capacity to re-engineer the state. I am poised to provide vision and people oriented leadership grounded on sincerity of purpose.
“I possess the dexterity to initiate and mobilise for the formulation and implementation of relevant policies to create the needed enabling environment,” he said.
Ezenwafor, however, said that agitation in the southeast had negatively affected the campaigns ahead of the election but that they were devising other means to reach out to electorate.
“The security situation in the state has affected our campaigns, the NRM campaign flag-off scheduled on Oct. 9, is cancelled due to the wave of insecurity in the state.
“I am not intimidated by any political party or candidate, if you have sampled the opinions of the electorate, you will realise that they are fed up with the so-called big parties.
“The so-called big parties have ruled at the centre or in the state, their performances are there for electorate to see, they are absolutely responsible for the situation we found ourselves today.
“It may interest you to know that the electorate are angling for a paradigm shift in terms of political party and candidate, that is what I represent,” he said.
