Ihiala Fed. Constituency: Women Say Antecedents, Not Promises, Will Influence Voting Choices.
Some women in Ihiala Federal Constituency have said that the track records of the aspirants contesting for the Constituency will be the major determinant of their voting choices and not campaign promises.
The women said this in their meeting which last weekend where they noted that Ihiala Federal Constituency has not fared well like its around the the area.
Mrs Ekpere Ejezie, a woman leader in the area, from Uzoakwa Ihiala noted that the lawmaker representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Local Government Areas Hon Chris Azubogu did well for his people to the extent that his constituents and should be emulated.
Ejezie pointed out that
same could be said about Ihiala Federal Constituency which had largely been neglected by duty bearers.
She said that the women were out to ensure that Ihiala Federal Constituency was represented by a very strong personality with a strong voice in the House of Representatives come 2023.
Ejezie noted that Ihiala women had done a critical examination of the persons indicating interest in the lower chamber of the National Assembly’s job and concluded that Mr Johnmary Maduakolam was best for the job.
She said that Maduakolam, a lawyer who was aspiring for the House of Representatives had been using his private resources to better the lots of Ihiala students through his annual scholarship program.
She also noted that the UK trained lawyer has been handling cases that bothers on infringement on human rights without collecting any form of fee from his people.
“The House of Representatives aspirant, Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam has not come to see us as a group but his fame has gone before him.
“People are excited about his aspiration because of the belief that he would be a round peg in a round hole.
“If he has been doing so much with his private resources, it is obvious that Ihiala Federal Constituency and constituents would be in for a good time if he makes it to the National Assembly,” she said.
Mrs Ejezie said that she was aware that Maduakolam had promised to introduce a CLEAN revolution in the constituency if it made it to the House of Representatives.
Maduakolam is a UK trained lawyer.
