IPOB Threat: Anambra Police Command Sues For Calm, Says ‘We Are Winning’
The Anambra State Police command under CP Echeng Echeng has assured residents of the state to be calm as it was winning the fight against insecurity.
The Command in in a Statement by DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer it was evolving new policing strategy to tackle emerging security challenges.
The assurance came on the heels of threat issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to declare a six days sit-at-home from Nov. 4 to Nov. 10 if it’s leader Maxi Nnamdi Kanu was not freed unconditionally by the Federal Government.
Kanu is standing trial for terrorism and other charges.
The Command said it’s deployment had taken care of possible security challenges before, during and after the Anambra governorship election scheduled for Nov. 6.

“We have undertaken a critical threat analysis and embark on painstaking intelligence gathering through strategic deployment of our intelligence assets, robust synergy with sister security agencies, organized vigilante groups and other stakeholders.
“We have been bold in confronting all security challenges and threats and indeed we have recorded several successes,” he stated.
