McCool Nwosu Replaces Obianyo As ADC Chairman In Anambra
Mr Christopher Mmaduaburochukwu Nwosu and Chief Chigbo Enwezo have been elected chairman and secretary respectively of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anambra State.
They emerged alongside others at a Congress organised by the party under the leadership of Sen. David Mark National Working Committee in Awka on Saturday.
The congress was conducted through a consensus following a motion moved by
Mr Timothy Egboka and seconded by Benchucks Nwosu.
The congress also ratified the all congresses earlier conducted all lower levels as well as dissolved all executive committees at the local government, ward and polling unit levels through two separate motions which were duly seconded.
This brings to an end the former State Executive of the Party under the leadership Mr Patrick Obianyo and all others under it at the local government, Ward and polling unit levels.
Amb. Fidel Ayogu, a chairman of the Congress committee said the consensus method was in line with the constitution of the party and also a good way to make up for the challenges of direct congress.
Ayogu said the ADC remained the most viable party in spite the challenges and urged the faithful to remain resilient and positive.
He said the congress was in accordance with the directive of the Mark-led National Working Committee with Mr Peter Obi as leader in Anambra.
“Anambra is a strong base of ADC, not because of Peter Obi but because we have two distinguished Senators, members of house of Representatives and House of Assembly from here.
“By virtue of the power vested in me as the Chairman of ADC Congress committee in Anambra and by the Congress conducted through consensus, I present you as the new leadership of the party in Anambra,” he said.
