Mentally ill man hacks 70 year old father to death in Anambra
A 70 years old man identified as Mr Godwin Ezeofor of Umuezegoro Kindred Unuchiana Village has been reportedly hacked to death with an axe by his son.
The suspect, Chigorom Ezeofor who is the son of the deceased is said to be about 37 years old and mentally unstable for about eight years.
SP Haruna Mohammed, Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra who disclosed this said the matter was reported on Saturday by one Mr Timothy Ezeofor who said he was the younger brother of Godwin
Mohammed said Policemen from Aguata Division had visited the scene of incident and rushed the victims go a hospital where he was certified dead and corpse deposited in the morgue for autopsy.
Following the report, Police Operatives attached to Aguata Division led by the DPO mobilised to scene, the victim was photographed and rushed to the hospital where he was certified dead by a medical Doctor and corpse deposited at the Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
“Meanwhile, exhibit recovered and the suspect who “look insane” was arrested and taken to the station for discreet investigation to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident please,” he said.
