- Nlc Strike Throws Parts Of Southeast Into Darkness
Some parts of Southeast within the distribution network of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) have been cut of from power supply following the two-day warning strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress.
The affected areas included Ogui, Abakpa, Umuahia, Owerri, New Owerri, Orlu, and Mbaise districts,
Mr Emeka Ezeh, *Head, Corporate Communications of EEDC said the areas were feeding from Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Stations.
Ezeh said the outage was due to the strike action embarked on by the NLC which resulted to the shutdown of theTCN Stations feeding its Injection Substations.
He said the affected TCN Stations were New Haven, Ohiya, and Egbu Transmission Stations.
According to him, the development affected supply to customers of EEDC under
“We shall continue to monitor events and provide timely updates as it affects our operations and service to our customers”.
“We are mindful of the inconveniences this situation has caused our esteemed customers and plead for their understanding,” he said.
