NSF: Anambra Exits Female Beach Volleyball Contest
Anambra has crashed out of the female Beach Volleyball competition of the National Sports Festival going on in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The team exited the competition at the quarter finals stage after losing 2-0 to hosts, Ogun State at the MKO Stadium, Abeokuta.
Anambra team made up of the duo of Ngozi Manafa and Ogadi Valentine had defeated Katsina 2-0 in their last group match to reach quarter finals.
In volleyball, Anambra female team’s hope of advancing from the group stage still hangs in the balance following their 2-3 loss to their Edo counterpart at the Aleke Sports sports complex.
They are expected to play their last group game on Saturday.
Obi Ossai, coach of Anambra Volleyball team expressed confidence that the team would scale through.
Ossai commended his players for their positive spirits and excellent performance in spite the loss.
