Nwosu, Chides Soludo Over Poor Conduct Of LG, Says Not Fit For Second Term
Mr John Nwosu, a Chieftain of the Labour Party has called for a review of the Sept. 28 Local Government Council election in Anambra as it lacked the basic democratic principles.
Nwosu who made the call in a post a election reaction in Awka said the Gov. Chukwuma Soludo had by the manner be conducted the election demonstrated that he was not a true democrat or one who kept his promises to the people.
The top governorship aspirant said the wide condemnation of the election by a broad spectrum of Anambra stakeholders was a justification of the decision of the Labour Party and other political parties to boycott the exercise
‘So far, his political and campaign and leadership promises and commitments have fallen short of expectation.
‘The Local Government Council election was a sham, statutorily manipulated and failed every test of credibility, transparency and inclusivity.
Recall that in 2017, he said Anambra was not broken in and did not need to be fixed, in 2021 he said Anambra under his watch would become Dubai and that he would hold credible LGA elections once he assumed office; he has failed on all counts,” he said.
Nwosu called on the Anambra electorate to reject his 2025 reelection bid as he had failed in his responsibility to protect the lives and property of Anambra citizens.
He said Soludo had had four years to acquit himself as a transformative leader but had failed woefully adding that It was time to change the holder of the leadership baton in Anambra.
According to him, it behooves Anambra people to deny him a second term.
“He has not done well for our people as regards our security, economy, infrastructure, inclusivity, social wellbeing of our people and their quality of life.
“We cannot in good conscience give Soludo another four-years to turn Anambra fully into a Gehenna.
“Recently, he has claimed that he was bequeathed billions of Naira in pension debts, did it take him four years to find that out, or is he now confirming that Anambra he inherited from was badly broken.
