NYSC Inducts 1,600 In Anambra, Soludo Urges Promotion Of Made-in-Nigeria Goods
Gov. Chukwuma Soludo has called on corps members to contribute to nation building, progress, unity and development.
Soludo made the call during the swearing in ceremony at permanent orientation camp in Mbaukwu-Umuawulu on Friday.
Soludo, who was represented by Mr Patrick Aghamba, the Commissioner for Youth Empowerment, told the corps members to feel at home and take advantage of the numerous youth development and empowerment programmes of his administration.
No fewer than 1,600 new corps members were been sworn-in for the 2025 Batch A Stream 1 orientation course in Anambra.
He reminded them that the oath they swore was not a mere ritual but a commitment to contribute to nation building, progress, unity and development.
The governor encouraged the corps members to promote locally made goods by patronising Made-in-Nigeria goods for growth of the manufacturing sector, creation of more jobs and sustainable development.
He urged the corps members to obey constituted authority, be enthusiastic and ensure their actions were guided by integrity, diligence, and compassion.
“Your safety and well-being are paramount, my administration has deployed robust security measures, including enhanced surveillance, community policing, and dedicated support from security agencies.
“Feel assured as you carry out your duties, and promptly report any concerns to the NYSC officials.
“I commend Mrs Pauline Ojichua, our newly appointed NYSC State Coordinator, and her team for their exemplary preparations,” he said.
Mrs Pauline Ojisua, Coordinator of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) said the corps members comprised 651 males and 949 females.
Ojisua congratulated the new inductees for the successful completion of their tertiary education and welcomed them into the scheme.
She enjoined them to be catalysts for national development and unity while urging them to take the lessons from the orientation programme seriously and ensure they participated fully.
“This Orientation Course is designed to equip you with the skills, values, and adaptability required to excel in your service year.
“It emphasises your role as ambassadors of peace, unity, and progress, empowering you to make meaningful contributions to host communities.
“Your conduct here and during your service year must reflect the ideals of NYSC, aim for excellence, participate actively, collaborate with peers, and strive for honour awards,” she said
