Obi Boosts Anglican Health, Education Mission In Ogbaru With ₦5M Donation
Mr Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate on Tuesday donated a sum of N5 million to St Luke Diocesan Hospital, Okpoko in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state .
Obi who said the money was to fund a major laboratory upgrade, pledged to give more support for the hospital which belonged to Anglican Diocese of Ogbaru under the leadership of the Rt Revd Prosper Amah.
He also had a tour of El Sharon School, located within the hospital’s promises satin he was Impressed by the school’s achievements despite limited resources promising that he would return to support infrastructure in the school.
Obi reiterated his belief that investment in healthcare and education as well as lifting people out of poverty were ithe cornerstone of sustainable development.
According to him, by empowering our hospitals and schools, we invest in the well‑being and future of our people.”
Bishop Amah who received the cheque on behalf of the Diocese described the donation as a transformative investment in community health.
He appreciated Obi, renowned for his fiscal prudence and commitment to public service saying the upgrade would save lives.
Obi was accompanied by Prof. Stella Chinyere Okunna and Mr. Afam Ogene, the Federal Representative for Ogbaru Federal Constituency.
Ogene appealed to Obi to consider Ogbaru as a priority area and assured that he would keep supporting within his own ability.
