Obi, Ngige, Uba Storm Nanka As Ezenwankwo, Ex Lawmaker Celebrates Silver Jubilee
Dignitaries from all walks of life emptied into Nanka in Orumba North Local Government Area to felicitate Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo (Ewepudike Nanka) as he marked 25 years of marriage to his lovely wife, Obiageli.
The event started with high mass celebrated by His Eminence, Cardinal Peter Okpalaeke, the Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese in company of Most Revd Dr Paulinus Ezeokafor, Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese assisted by hosts of other priests.
Ezenwankwo is a man of many parts: a trader, a politician, philanthropist, a community leader, multiple traditional title holder and an advocate of good life and welfare.

He is a former President General of Southeast Market Traders Association and a former member representing Orumba North and Orumba South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

Eminence, Peter Cardinal Ebere Okpalaeke, Bishop of Ekwulobia Catholic Diocese led the High Mass in company of Most Revd Dr Bishop Paulinus Ezeokafor of Awka Catholic Diocese among other priests across denomination.
Early birds were Sir Paul Chukwuma, top aspirant for the November governorship election in the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Igwe Godwin Ezeilo, the traditional ruler of Nanka, Chief Ifeanyi Ibezi, former member representing Idemil North and Idemil South as well as Dr Dominic Okafor, member representing Aguata federal Constituency who joined in the mass.
Other political bigwigs who graced the event were Mr Peter Obi, presidential candidate of Labour Party in the last general election Sen. Tony Nwoye, representing Anambra North in the National Assembly, Sen. Chris Ngige, former governor of Anambra, Chief Chris Uba, political godfather and Chief Humphrey Anuna, President General of Anambra State Market Traders among others.
In his homily, Cardinal Okpalaeke, called on Nigerians to return to the days of strong family system and restore values in order to address societal challenges.
According to him, you can tell the health of a nation when you look at the health of the family, the family is the domestic church and the cell of the society.
“What you see today in society is the consequence of the failure of the families, failure in the responsibilities of parents, fathers, mothers and guardians in the family.
“For us to get out of the challenges we are facing in society, we must return to the family,” he said.
Okpalaeke congratulated Okwudili and his wife for standing by each two decades and a half reminding all that couples were called to remain indissolubly united till death do them part.
The colourful event turned out to be a fanfare with music, dance presentation wit
h enough frills and thrills.
