Oduah, Obidigwe, Nwankwo Head To Elections Tribunal To Contest NASS Election Results in Anambra
The Election Petitions Tribunal (EPT) in Anambra received a total of 31 petitions in relation to the National Assembly election of Feb. 25 in Anambra.
Mr Muazu Bagudu, Secretary of the tribunal disclosed in Awka on Saturday.
Bagudu said the petitions included 24 for the House of Representatives and seven for the senate.
In Anambra Central, Sen. Victor Umeh of the Labour Party who won the election has two petitions challenging his victory by Mr Dozie Nwankwo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) and Mrs Helen Mbakwe of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
Winner of Anambra South contest, Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah will defend his victory against three petitions filed by Dr Obinna Uzoh of LP, Chris Azubuogu of APGA and Chris Uba of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In Anambra North, Tony Nwoye of LP has two petitions by Sen. Stella Oduah of the PDP and the PDP against his party to clear at the tribunal.
For the House of Representatives election, Mr Pascal Agbordike of APGA who won the Ihiala seat has four petitions from JohnMary Maduakolam(PDP), Mr Chiemeka Hezekiah(LP), Chukwueloka Egwemezie and Chuddy Momah(PDP) against him.
Mrs Chinwe Nnabuife, Orumba North/South (YPP) is petitioned by Mr Sopuluchkwu Ezeonwuka, Ms Nikky Ugochukwu (LP), Mr Okwudili Ezenwankwo PDP and Mr Eric Eze, (APGA).
For Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo, Mr Ifeanyi Uzokwe(YPP), Mr Emeka Anagwu(LP) and Timothy Ibeto are contesting the election of Mr Uchenna Eleodimmuo.
Mrs Maureen Gwacham of APGA, winner of Oyi/Ayamelum Constituency will face Mr Uchenna Okafor(YPP), Mr Vincent Ofumelu,(PDP) and Mr Obiora Chira (LP) while also has a petition against Okafor, his party YPP, LP and the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Dominic Okafor (APGA) who won the seat for Aguata Constituency will face Mr Johnbosco Onunkwo (APC), Andrew Azike(LP) and Kenneth Anyaeche.
In Awka North/South, Prof. Lilian Orogbu(LP) will defend her victory against Mr Obi Nwankwo (APGA) and Mr Maxwell Okoye(APC).
Mr Ifeanyi Ibezi (APC) and Mr IKenna Iyiegbu(APGA) are challenging Mr Harris Okonkwo in the Idemili North/South Federal Constituency election.
Mr Chinedu Obidigwe(APGA) is challenging Peter Udogalanya (LP) Anambra East/West Constituency while Ms Lynda Ikpeazu(PDP) is contesting the victory of Mr Emeka Idu (LP) Onitsha North)South Federal Constituency.
There was no petition for Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal Constituency while Ogbaru Federal Constituency election was yet to be concluded.
