Ojike, Anambra Lawmakers Lands FA Award, Reiterates Commitment For Grassroots Sports Development
Innocent Ojike, member representing Oyi Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly has ssid that among other things, he would use his position to support the empowerment of youths in the area through sports.
Ojike made the commitment while receiving an award of recognition for grassroots sports development from Anambra State Football Association in Awka on Sunday.
The award was bestowed on him during the opening ceremony of All Stars championship at the Awka Township Studium.
Ojike who spoke with journalists after receiving the award said he was happy to be recognised and rhst the gesture work spur him to do more.
According to him, I want to thank the Anambra State Football Association for finding me worthy of thiis recognition and award.
“This award will definitely motivate me to do more than I have done going forward.
“I thank God and dedicate this award to my people of Oyi constituency who have saddled me with this task of representing them,” he said.
The opening ceremony was attended by dignitaries including veteran football players as well as Dr Onyedika Ibezim, the deputy Governor of Anambra who did the kickoff.
The opening match of the tournament was between Awka Elite All Stars which had 1-0 win over Okpoko All Stars.
