Ozigbo Donates Relief Items, Cash To Anambra Flood Victims
Mr Valentine Ozigbo, a Labour Party Chieftain has delivered food and lifelihood items to victims of flooding in Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra.
Ozigbo, the Chairman of Valentine Chineto Ozigbo (VCO) Foundation handed the items to the flood affected people at Nkwo Umueze-Anam on Saturday.
The relief materials and financial support donationsto the internally displaced persons were made through his foundation, the Valentine Chineto Ozigbo Foundation..
The governorship aspirant who bemoaned the displacement, destruction of property and difficulties faced by the people called for a proactive and permanent solution to the perennial flood menace
Ozigbo commended the resilience of the flood prone Anambra West people as remarkable, but noted that the needed support and should not be left to face their challenges alone.
According to him, while these items can not fully address the magnitude of their losses, they represent our solidarity and commitment to supporting our community in times of need.
“The stories of these our brothers sisters are heart-wrenching, businesses destroyed, properties lost, and families displaced.
“This yearly occurrence demands more than just relief efforts, it requires proactive government intervention with proper early warning systems and flood control measures,” he said.
