Permanent Secretaries in Anambra donate hand sanitisers to state Govt.
Permanent Secretaries in Anambra civil service have supported the state government with 42 cartons of hand sanitisers as support in the efforts to prevent the spread of Corona Virus Disease in the state.
The item was handed over to Prof. Sobechukwu Chukwulobelu, Secretary to Anambra State Government (SSG), at the Government House, Awka by Mr Harry Udu, Head of Service in the state on behalf of the College of Permanent Secretaries on Wednesday.
Udu said the gesture the body’s contribution towards supporting the government in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic while lauding the State government on its efforts to check the pandemic in the state.
“The college of Permanent Secretaries in her wisdom has decided to donate this item from their meagre salaries as a way to supporting the good efforts of the state government in fighting this disease,” he said.
Udu prayed that God would continue to grant Gov. Willie Obiano the wisdom necessary to continue to keep the residents of Anambra safe.
On his part, Chukwulobelu, appreciated the permanent Secretaries for supporting their employer at this turbulent time.
The SSG described the donation as timely and a huge relief of the financial burden such recurrent expenditure placed on the government noting that provision of hand sanitisers was a continuous requirement in the fight against the virus.
According to him, such donations do go a long way in providing succour to the government especially at this time the economy of the nation was dwindling.
He call for more of such donations while assuring the donors of accountability and transparency in using the donations while encouraging other bodies to follow suit.
