Pharmaceutical Giant Urges Southern To Register For PVC, Cast Votes
Chief Bath Eli, Chairman of Transglobe Pharmaceutical Ltd has called on the people of the Southeast to endeavour to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) in the going Continue Voters’ Register.
Eli gave the advice at the 70th birthday ceremony of Chief Jasper Opkalafulaku the Managing Director of Transglobe Pharmaceutical Company Limited in Onitsha.
Eli said PVC was very important in the electoral process of the country and that voting was the only way to practically demonstrate your choice on the type of leader they wished.
He said time had gone by when the Igbo would stay in the comfort of their homes to make predictions of who would win the election without making efforts to vote.
Eli who is popularly known as Ichie Ozuligbo further said that the Igbo in Nigeria are many and could determine who would emerge the president of the country if they wished.
According to Eli,the Igbo have a great population in the country , but they need to work together as one.
“We are not interested in the political process of the country , we don’t vote and many of us do not have PVC to vote and we still want to produce the president of the country ” he said.
Eli called on the media to mount a serious campaign for the people to go out there and get their PVCs and be ready to vote on election days.
He commended journalists for their good works in Anambra, noting that they are the mirror of the society.
“You ,the press have done well in the country , you exhume what is hidden for the public to know. You have exposed a lot evil committed by some individuals, without you the world is in darkness ” he said.
On his part, Dr. Emeka Odogwu, chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra State Council,commended the celebrant for his immense contributions to the development of the state.
He said NUJ was proud of him and what he is doing to create jobs for the youths in the state and the country.
