Police Arrest Suspected ESN Commander, Recover Arms In Anambra
A top Commander of Eastern Security Network(ESN) has been arrested by the Police Command in Anambra following a sting operation.
The suspect identified as Udebuan Chibueze was arrested Oct.29 with gunshot injuries.
Chibueze is suspected to have been involved in recent attacks in Anambra.
The Police stormed his house at Ekwulobia and Nnewi respectively and recovered four AK47 rifles, two Automatic Pump Action and several ammunition.
A top Police source said also recovered were three Sports Utility Vehicles, two NSCDC uniforms, Army uniforms and identity cards belonging to policemen killed in previous attacks .
The source said the plan was to use the security agencies’ paraphernalia to gain access to sensitive locations with the intention to wreak havoc.
According to the Police, the suspect confessed to have led several attacks on police facilities and was responsible for the killings of several policemen and Naval personnel.
It said investigations were ongoing.
