Police Dismisses Tension, Begins Tracking Of Purveyors Of Recycled Videos In Anambra
The Police Command in Anambra has condemned the activities of those sharing old video clips with the mischievous intention of creating fear in the people and causing panic in the state.
CP Aderemi Adeoye, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra who said this in Awka, described those responsible for the act as “enemies of the people” .
The CP called on Anambra people to disregard the videos and not help enemies of progress to share them
NewsMornitor reports that the old video being recycling contains visuals of burning of a commercial bus at Nanka and killing of soldiers at Umunze.
DSP Toochulwu Ikenga the Police Public Relations Officer in the state who issued the statement quotes Aderemi as saying that both events happened in 2022 during the dark days of insecurity.
He said the CP had directed the Cybercrime Unit of the Nigeria Police Force to track down those exhuming the old videos to create panic and fear among the populace.
“The CP wish to state that the video is an old video being recycled by enemies of the people, this is a vile propaganda.
“He therefore warned purveyors of false alarm who seek to create fear in the mind of the public that they will be tracked down and brought to book.
“The CP wishes to re-assure Anambra residents that the Police and sister security agencies will always go the extra mile to secure them against agents of darkness that do not mean well for them or for the Nation,” he said..
