Police Recover Abandoned Vehicle, One Live Ak47 Ammunition In Anambra
The Police Command in Anambra has recovered a vehicle suspected to have been abandoned by fleeing criminals on Awgbu-Amaokpala highway in the state.
DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Anambra said this in a Statement made available to newsmen in Awka on Tuesday.
Ikenga said other items recovered were one Ak47 live ammunition and some criminal masks.
He said brand and registration number of the car was black Mercedes 4matic ML 350 jeep with Reg No Abuja RBC 527 AL.
The PPRO said the items were discovered at about 3pm of Aug. 29, while a team was on patrol.
According to him, preliminary information shows that the vehicle is suspected to have been snatched by criminal elements who had an accident on their way.
“The Armed robbers abandoned the vehicle inside a gutter and fled the scene, meanwhile, Police Operatives have intensified patrol in the area aimed at apprehending the criminal elements.
“The Command also invites anyone or group looking for such vehicles as highlighted above, to come to Anambra State Police Command Awka, with a valid proof/evidence of ownership for scrutiny and possible collection please,” it stated.
