Power outage hits Awka, environs
Enugu Electricity Distribution Company has appealed to its Customers in Awka, Anambra and its environs to be patient over the outage in the area.
Mr Chukwuemeka Ezeh, Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC said the blackout was fut to routine maintenance works at a Nibo transmission station by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
Ezeh in a statement entitled “Loss Of Supply In Parts Of Awka And Environs” assured that the power would be restored as soon as the maintenance works are concluded on Sunday .
He said those that were connected to Enugu Agidi 11kv, Udoka 11kv, Awka Main 11kv and Nibo 11kv feeders were those affected while apologising for the inconveniences.
“EEDC wishes to inform her esteemed customers in Awka and environs that the current loss of supply being experienced is due to the annual maintenance being carried out by the TCN).at its NIBO transmission station on TR3, 30MVA.
“This exercise started yesterday (Saturday) and is expected to be concluded today (Sunday).
“As a result of this development, there is no supply at NIBO transmission station which affects has affected supply to EEDC injection substation at NIBO.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconveniences this has caused our esteemed customers and assure them that supply will be restored once TCN completes the maintenance work,” he said.
