Sen. Ekwunife Slams APGA’s Allegation Of Certificate Forgery As Campaign Of Fear
Sen. Uche Ekwunife, deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the attempt to question her academic qualifications by the All Progressives Congress (APC), as a desperate and politically motivated smear campaign.
Ekwunife who said this in a Statement signed by Mr Tony Ezike, her Special Adviser, Media and Publicity described the allegations as false, malicious and aimed at distracting the public from her rising popularity and growing acceptance across Anambra.
Ekwunife provided evidence of her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education from the University of Calabar and undertook National Youth Service Corps between May 3, 1993, and May 2, 1994.
She also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and later obtained a Doctorate in Public Administration from Atlantic International University.
“These are verified facts neither speculation nor hearsay,” she said.
Ekwunife said it was worrisome that Gov. Chukwuma Soludo whose administration had continued to face widespread criticism over insecurity and unfulfilled promises had become fixated on her.
She said she was being targeted because of her grassroots influence, track record, and strong connection with the people which had made her the candidate to watch.
“It is no surprise, therefore, that the Soludo administration has resorted to propaganda, fake narratives, and outright lies to undermine my candidacy.
“Despite lucrative offers of millions of naira, road projects, and streetlights from his government to the people of Nri Kingdom, they stood their ground.
“They rejected these inducements, confronted thugs sent to vandalise APC campaign materials, and marched in solidarity to my residence,” she said.
She said she was not responsible for the failures of the Soludo administration and advised him to focus on addressing urgent issues confronting the state instead of sponsoring smear campaigns.
She said the APC ticket of Ukachukwu and Ekwunife represented a credible alternative which offered vision, competence, and a commitment to real transformation across the state.
“No amount of falsehoods can stop the tide of change sweeping ac
ross Anambra,” she said.
