Sen. Nwoye Seeks Tinubu’s Urgent Intervention In Onitsha-Omor-Adani Federal Road In Anambra
Sen. Tony Nwoye, member representing Anambra North sensational district has called on President Bola Tinubu to fix the dilapidated Onitsha-Omor-Adani Road federal road.
Nwoye made the appeal during an on the spot inspection of some sections of the 60 km road on Saturday.
He said the road which spans across Anambra North sensational district connected Ayamelum, Anambra East, Onitsha North and Onitsha South Local Government Area in Anambra to Enugu State through Abuja.
He said the road also served the agrarian communities of Aguleri, Anaku, Omor, Adani who cannot evacuate their produce to the cities due to lack of access.
“I appeal to Mr President who has given tacit approval for this project to award and the minister of works to come to the side of the people to carry emergency repairs to bring succour pending the award of contract.
“It serves the people of Anambra North sensational district Ayamelum, Anambra East, Onitsha North and Onitsha South who want to go to Abuja and the other way round,” he said.
Nwoye said he had moved a motion in the Senate in July 2023 and the President had given his approval while the bureau of public procurement had given their no objection.
“What is now remaining is the award of the project proper.
“ But I understand the problem of lack of funds but in the interim, I am pleading that palliative works should be emergency repairs to give urgent relief to the people,” he said.
