Soludo Appoints Umeakuewulu As First Female CMD Of Ojukwu Varsity Teaching Hospital
Gov. Chukwuma Soludo has appointed Dr Uche Umeakuewulu as the Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital Amaku, Awka
Mr Christian Aburime, the Press Secretary to Soludo who made the appointment public on March 12 said it would take effect from March 13 2026.
The appointment follows the expiration of the tenure of Dr Joe Akabuike who served for a period of five years.
Umeakuewulu is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special focus on Gynaecologic Oncology and women’s health at the National Hospital, Abuja.
She has made significant contributions to healthcare in Nigeria.
Umeakuewulu is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCOG), and the International College of Surgeons (FICS).
