Soludo Is A Failure, I Regret Helping To Make Him Anambra Governor…. Awogu
Chief Arinzechukwu Awogu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the making of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo to become governor of Anambra in 2021 was a serious error which must not be allowed repeat itself in 2025.
Awogu, the National Coordinator of Ikemba Front the foremost support group within the APC who said this in Awka on Wednesday expressed worry that rather than telling Ogbaru people what he had done for them in past four years Soludo spent his whole time throwing jabs and tantrums at people.
Soludo while the people of Atani in Ogbaru attacked Awogu directly by saying their son who used to be in APGA and no longer belong to any party and that he he would fall into the river Niger.
Reacting, Awogu who work the victory of APGA as the transition committee chairman of Ogbaru Council said nobody could support Soludo more than he did in 2021 but expressed regretted that the governor was a dashed hope in terms of governance delivery.
He said he left APGA because Soludo he wanted all those who worked for his becoming governor to go into oblivion and replaced with those who contributed nothing warning that same fate awaited those working for his re-election now.
“It was not only me, it was a pattern and similar fate awaits those working themselves out for him now, Soludo is disdainful of those who led him to power, Sen. Andy Uba’s experience is another example,” he said.
Awogu called on all those who joined him in supporting Soludo in 2021 to desert him as aura and splendor of governorship have departed from him.
According to him, each foot he puts forward is wrong and it reminds us of the description of his person by Dr Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who said that Soludo is a ‘Professor Without Character’.
“Anambra people have since realised that to be true, it was an error making him governor in the first place.
“His visit was a sign of total rejection by the people of Ogbaru they had to adjust and adjust the seats and canopies to reduce the occupied space to less than half of the field because of poor turn out,” he said.
Meanwhile, stakeholders in Ogbaru have condemned the comment by the governor saying it was least expected from a man holding such exalted public office.
Chief Nnalue Mbanefo, a community leader in Ogbaru said they were disappointed that the governor prioritised personal fight than the good of the people.
“We all came to listen to what he will tell us he has done in Ogbaru in the past three years and seven months and what he will do if re-elected
“But instead of addressing the many concerns of Ogbaru people, he started to attack our son.
“It was an empty rhetoric, he had nothing to campaign with in Ogbaru only to tell the people that our son left APGA to form “Front,” and that he does not belong to any political party,” he said.
On his part, Linus Uho, who recently resigned as APGA Ogbaru Local Government Deputy Chairman to join APC, said Soludo should have known that the “something Front” is Ikemba Front which was in APC where Awogu fully belongs.
“We left APGA to join APC because of the governor’s unbridled attitude and Ogbaru people have seen that he has nothing for them
, we will vote him out on Nov. 8.
