Soludo reiterates commitment to development of Anambra—Soludo
Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has assured that he will continue to work for the development of the state and good of the people.
Soludo said this during an interdenominational church service to mark the end of his first tenure at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Awka on Sunday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Soludo administration will end on March 17 and he will be sworn in for a second term on the same date.
The theme of the sermon was “Leading with Wisdom and Integrity”.
Soludo, who was in the company of his wife, Dr Nonye and other members of his cabinet expressed gratitude to the people of Anambra for their support over the past four years.
He acknowledged that there were challenges, and said the success and conclusion of his first tenure was by the grace of God.
“I will continue to work for the development of Anambra and the society”
“We are not going to treat people on the basis of their religion or where they came from but by the value they brought to his government,” he said.
Bishop Alexander Ibezim, the Anglican Diocese of Awka and Bishop Francis Wale Oke, the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria were among speakers at the event.
They commended the governor and urged him to focus on human capital development and infrastructure while urging him to uphold integrity in leadership.
Participants at the service included religious leaders from the Christian Association of Nigeria, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, the Catholic Church and Anglican Communion.
Special prayers were also said for continued peace in Anambra and vision for the governor in his second term.
