Soludo Signs 2026 Budget, Three Other Bills Into Law
Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has signed the 2026 appropriation bill of N766 billion into law
The signing event was held at the Anambra Government House in Awka on Monday.
Soludo said the budget focused on economic growth, infrastructure projects, and social welfare programmes across the state.

“This budget is more than numbers, it is a strategic plan crafted to deliver on our administration’s promises.
“We have focused on what truly matters to the people, ensuring that resources are allocated to meet the critical needs in our communities,” he said.
Soludo also accented to other laws including the Anambra State Mission Schools of Nursing and Midwifery (Amendment No. 3) Law, 2025, the Anambra State Taxes, Levies and Presumptive Tax (Approved List for collection) Law, 2025, and the Anambra State Correctional Service Law, 2025.
The governor commended the State lawmakers for a productive partnership which has been crucial.
He said “their thoroughness and cooperation have helped deliver laws that will accelerate the development and prosperity of Anambra.
“We submitted a draft appropriation of N757 billion but in their wisdom after various reviews, the budget size very slightly increased to 766 billion naira for the 2026 fiscal year. So, we now get to work,” he said.
Soludo said the principles of transparency, accountability and inclusive governance were the bedrock of his government.
He said enacting the laws had created the enabling environment for effective service delivery and sustainable growth.
Soludo was joined by Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Majority Leader Mr Ikenna Ofodeme, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi; Prof Sylva Chika Ifemeje, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake; among others.
