Soludo, Wife Celebrate 33 Years Anniversary
Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra on Friday marked the 33rd wedding anniversary with his wife , Dr Nonye in his country home in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area.
The event was a joyous occasion with family, reflecting faith, and community spirit.
The anniversary thanksgiving mass was celebrated by His Eminence Peter Cardinal Okpaleke, Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobịa Diocese.
The ceremony attracted family members, friends, dignitaries, and well-wishers who came together to honor the couple’s enduring love and commitment to themselves for 33 years.
Soludo thanked everyone who shared in the celebration and offered heartfelt reflections on the journey of his marriage with his wife.
He highlighted key values such as patience, understanding, and mutual respect as factors which had sustained the relationship over the years.
In a homily, Most Rev. Jonas-Benson Okoye, Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, addressed the congregation. He praised the Governor and his wife for their exemplary union, emphasizing how faith and mutual support have been foundational pillars in building a lasting marital bond.
Bishop Okoye described their marriage as a living testament to God’s grace, underscoring the strength that couples gain when they walk in faith together. His words resonated deeply with those in attendance, reinforcing the spiritual significance of the occasion.
The anniversary celebration also served as a moment for reconnecting with the people and celebrating cultural heritage. The Governor’s choice to hold the event at his country home in Isuofia was seen as a meaningful tribute to his roots and the longstanding ties he maintains with the people of Isuofia.
Soludo’s 33rd wedding anniversary was more than just a personal milestone; it was a celebration of love, faith, and family values that inspire many within and beyond Anambra.
Some dignitaries at the event were the deputy governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim , and wife, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, the Chief Judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu and his wife among other eminent personalities from within and outside the state.
The event also featured hymns by the choir and native music by the people of Isuofia to which the governor and his wife danced.
