Soludo Wins Nomination As APGA Candidate For Nov. 8 Guber Contest
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has nominated Prof.. Chukwuma Soludo, the incumbent governor as her candidate for the Nov 8 governorship election in Anambra.
APGA returned Soludo who was the dole contestant for the ticket at the primary election held at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka on Saturday.
Soludo was renominated for sfcon tenure contest through a unanimous ‘yes’ votes by the 3,168 delegates from the 326 political wards across the 21 Local Government Area of the state.
A total of 3,175 were accredited for the exercise but 3,172 votes were cast with four declared invalid.
The victory of Soludo at the primary election was announced by Chief Uchenna Nwegbo, the Chairman of the Primary Election Electoral Committee,
Soludo in his acceptance speech said the mandate and support for him was overwhelming while urging the people of Anambra to keep faith with him.
He immediately announced his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim as his running mate.
He said Anambra was on the rise and that he would continue to develop the state across all sectors.
The exercise was observed by representatives of the Independent Electoral Commission and in accordance with the Electoral Act, 2022 and INEC guidelines and regulations for political party primaries.
