South East Youths say new Zonal command would strengthen security in the zone
The Association of Community Youth Leaders have expressed appreciations to President Mohammadu Buhari and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu for the creation of a new Police Zonal Command in the South East.
The group said this in a statement issued in Awka on Sunday.
The statement was signed by Mr Osita Ozalagba, Mr Chigozie Ajoku and Mr Chukwudi Onyejekwe the South East Zone President General, Secretary and Publicity Secretary respectively.
The youth said the new Command known as Zone 13 which would be in-charge of Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu states would go a long towards strengthening the existing peace and security in the area.
The group said the location, Ukpo in Anambra was very strategic in view of its central proximity to the three states and to some known dark spots in the state.
“South East Zone heartily thank and appreciate President Buhari, and the IGP Adamu for their disposition towards the formation of Zone 13 of the Police Command, Ukpo, Anambra to over see Anambra, Ebonyi, and Enugu states Security Apparatus.
“We specially note that this institution will help a lot in curbing Crimes in Obosi, Ogidi, Awkuzu, Nkpor, Onitsha, Omambala axis in Anambra because of its strategic location at Ukpo in Dunukofia” it stated.
The South East Youth Leaders commended the governments of Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu for their cooperation towards the realisation of the command and Chief Arthur Eze, a businessman who worked tirelessly to see it come through.
The groups pledged to work harmoniously with the zonal command using its grassroots reach in the efforts of the Police to ensure a crime free society.
“We congratulate the Governments of Anambra, Enugu, and Ebonyi State, and equally welcome the brand new Zonal Commander, AIG Danmallam Muhammed fdc.
“Worthy of our commendation is our Pride and great son of the Igbo Nation, Prince Arthur Eze whom have shown uncommon love and commitment in supporting this noble idea.
“We thank you, and will continue to appreciate you, and thank God for a Gift of you to mankind, thank you for your love, sincere commitment, and Patriotism to the yearning of the common Man.
“We look forward building a robust Synergy with the new Zonal Command, in the best interest of our society,” it stated.
