State Finalists For Ncho, Draught Emerge From Aguata Zone
Action continued in the ongoing Anambra State Traders Sports Competition as board games, Draught and Nacho took centre stage at the Aguata Zonal Centre on Thursday.
The encounters produced Zonal representatives for the State finals in the Ncho, Draught and Table Tennis events of the competition.
In Ncho, Esther Nzeka representing Nkwo Umunze market had 2-0 straight wins and a draw against Amaka Okpala of Etewa Market Ekwulobia in an all female affair to qualify for the next round.
Nzeka is the reigning champion of the Ncho event, a very entertaining traditional seed game played in 12 holes of two columns and six rows.
In Draught, Chukwudi Okoro of Nkwo Umunze market outclassed his rival, Uchenna Ezenwafor who represented Etawa Market by 2 straight wins to also advance to the next stage of the competition.
Uchenna Ezenwafor playing for Etawa market also slugged it out with Okechukwu Okoro of Nkwo Umunze in the final draught Aguata zone.
The competition continues with activities at City Sports Club, Awka, Country Club Onitsha and Rojenny Stadium, Oba on Friday.
