Stop Seeking Cheap Popularity With My Name, Soludo Carpets LP Rep. Elect

Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has cautioned Prof Lilian Orogbu, a House of Representatives member elect for Awka North/South Federal Constituency to stop seeking popularity with his name.

Soludo said this while reacting to a viral video where Orogbu was addressing an audience in what he described as an uncomplimentary and uncouth manner to him.

Orogbu had claimed that Soludo threatened that people who would not vote for All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidates would jot enjoy development project and he worked against the success of Peter Obi on Feb. 25.

The governor who spoke to journalists on Wednesday through Mr Christian Aburime, his Press Secretary said the law maker should go about her campaigns for LP candidates without seeking unnecessary attention with his name.

Aburime said it was laughable that the Lawmaker elect  was comparing herself with Soludo as co professors just because she won an election.

According to him, she is among those who rode on the back of Peter Obi to win election, but she should not rejoice yet because it’s not time to rejoice.

“She cannot win any election if she runs on her own merit.

“Those who profited from Obi’s bandwagon effect should not rejoice so much, because there will be another election someday, and the bandwagon effect may not be there.

“Orogbu wants to use the opportunity of Soludo’s name to gain attention from the people,” he said.

Aburime said Anambra was an  APGA state while expressing confidence that the electorate would show faith in the party by voting for its candidates on March 18.
