Support Group Hails Soludo On Projects, Drums Support For Second Term
Solution Marshalls, a political solidarity group has commended Gov. Chukwuma for executing physical projects which were impacting positively on the lives of the residents of Anambra.
The group group made the commendation during a tour of some of Soludo’s project in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area and Ekwulobia in Aguata Area on Friday.
Some of the projects inspected included internal roads measuring about 12 Km and ultra modern general hospital both in Ogbaru and a multi billion naira flyover at Ekwulobia.
Ekwulobia bridge is a strategic bridge which connects Awka to Imo State through Uga and an interchange Linkin Nnewi through Nnobi to Isuochi in Abia star through Umunze.
Mr Jude Ezenwa, the Vice President General of Ogbaru while addressing journalists said the community had received a new lease of life since Soludo got into office
He said the hospital had shortened the distance they traveled to access healthcare adding that the internal roads with street light have made the place ‘a new heaven’
He expressed gratitude of the people of Ogbaru assuring that they would support him whenever it was necessary.
Mr Osita Obi, Convener of Soludo Marshals while speaking to journalists said they were impressed with the transformation of Okpoko an urban slum within the Onitsha Metropolis.
Obi said Soludo had within two years fulfilled his campaign promises to the residents of Okpoko with connecting roads, boreholes for portable water supply and general hospital which revered free child and maternal healthcare.
Obi said the reason for the inspection tour was to verify the claims of the government about completed and ongoing projects to confirm that taxpayers money was being used for the good of the people.
He said the governor had done well to deserve the support of the people for a second tenure come 2025, so he could achieve his lofty development agenda for Anambra.
“Okpoko is one of the biggest slums in the West Africa region, which influenced the choice of this visit to see things for ourselves.
“The aim of the tour is to market the state government from a private angle and to tell Anambra registered voters the reason why they should massively re-elect Prof. Soludo in the 2025 governorship election in the state,” he said.
Obi said in addition to the massive infrastructure going on across the state, Soludo was addressing the manpower challenges in the health and education sectors with massive employment of teachers and health professionals in the first phase of recruitment.
According to him, the government has revived the healthcare system such that pregnant women receive free antenatal care and give birth free of charge in the state.
“About 5,000 youths have been empowered through one youth-two-skills with start-up grants which address unemployment and criminality.
Also speaking, Mr Emmanuel Oramalu, Secretary of Solution Marshals said the position of the group was that Soludo was working.
Oramalu said Soludo had done better in his first term than other previous governors without thinking about the next election.
“From Soludo’s first day in office, he showed the people that he came to work for them, he has changed the story of Okpoko in Ogbaru council area.
“He has transformed Okpoko, and today there are hospitals, schools, good roads, and water to drink in the area that has been abandoned for decades.
“I want to appeal to the people to support the governor’s second-term ambition to enable him to actualise his vision of making Anambra a livable and prosperous state,” he said.
