SWAN Congratulates Anambra Beach Soccer Team On Historic League Title
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra State Chapter has congratulated the Anambra Beach Soccer “Warriors” on their victory at the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League.
SWAN in a statement signed by Chimezie Anaso and Uche Ndeke, chairman and Secretary respectively said the Anambra Beach Soccer League demonstrated the strong, resilient and hard fighting spirit of Anambra people.
Recall that the Anambra Beach Soccer Team defeated the reigning national and African champions Kebbi Beach Soccer Club to emerge the national title in the competition concluded in Abuja on Nov. 9.
The statement which was made available on Thursday applauded the Anambra Beach Soccer Association under the chairmanship of Prof. Victor Madubuko for not only launching the state into the mainstream of Nigeria Beach Soccer but for winning the highest national honour within three years of its existence.
SWAN said the success story is a justification of the confidence reposed on the Madubuko inspired ABSA that earned the association an award for the Fastest Growing Sports Association in Anambra during the 2024 SWAN Week.
“We are excited to associate with your victory. has placed Anambra convincingly on the map as a new powerhouse in African Beach Soccer within three years of bringing the game to the state.
“ABSA showed it meant business when it set up a standard beach soccer pitch and successfully hosted national competition on two occasions within the period.
“SWAN Anambra appreciates your commitment towards providing a platform for positive engagement among youths and promoting sports in Anambra,” it said.
