Udeze, ex PDP Emerges Speaker of Anambra 8th Assembly
Mr Somtochukwu Udeze, representing Ogbaru State Constituency 11 has been elected speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly.
Udeze who was reelected on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party defected to the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance fortnight ago.
He was unanimously elected by the 30-members House of Assembly following the nomination by Mr Ikenna Ofodeme, member representing Ekwusigo State Constituency.
The nomination was seconded by Mr Chimezie Ekwunne, the member representing Awka North,
Mr Chukwuma, representing Awka South Constituency II, was elected as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
The Acting Clerk of the House, Mrs. Esther Aneto, administered the oath of office to them after a voice vote confirmation by the entire law makers.
The new Speaker, Mr Udeze representing Ogbaru Constituency II, was decorated by the Acting Clerk before many dignitaries, including Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
