Val’s Day: Let’s Use Love As Catalyst for Peace, Community Development—Ekwunife
Sen. Uche Ekwunife, the Director General of the Southeast Governors Forum, has called on the people of Anambra, the Southeast, and Nigerians in general to
embrace love as a fundamental tool for fostering peace, unity, and national development.
Ekwunife made the call in her 2025 Valentine’s Day celebration message signed by Tony Ezike, her Special Assistant on Media and Strategic Communication on Friday.
Ekwunife said love had the transformative power which strengthened family bonds, promoted communal harmony, and drove collective progress across the nation.
“Love remains the most powerful force that unites us as a people, fostering peace, stability, and shared prosperity in our homes, communities, and the country at large,” she stated.
She said true love transcended mere words, and called on Nigerians to express love through acts of kindness, empathy, and selfless service.
According to her, a society founded on love thrives in peace and unity, creating an enabling environment for sustainable development and national cohesion.
“As Anambra people and the entire Southeast continue to pursue growth and development, let us reaffirm our commitment to love; within our families, among our neighbors, and for our nation.
“By embracing love, we strengthen the very fabric of our communities and lay the foundation for a more united and prosperous Nigeria,” she said.
Ekwunife further encouraged Nigerians to extend compassion to those in need, cultivate a spirit of forgiveness, and uphold values that promoted social harmony and national unity.
She expressed hope that love would continue to reign in the hearts of the people, inspiring positive change across the nation.
She wished all Nigerians a Happy Valentine’s Day and reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to advocating for a peaceful, progressive, and united society.
