Ozumba, Ex APGA Aspirant Unveils ‘Maka Ọdimma Anyị’ Movement With Thanksgiving,
Mr Emeka Odimma, a contestant for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket for Njikoka I in the Anambra House of Assembly State Constituency has unveiled his political support group known as ‘Maka Ọdimma Anyị’ loosely translated as ‘For Our Common Good ‘.
Ozumba, a Media Aide to former Gov. Willie Obiano unveiled the group with a thanksgiving mass at St. Francis Catholic Church, Urunnebo, Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area on Sunday.
Ozumba, a Political Communications Strategist said the thanksgiving was to thank APGA faithful for their overwhelming support which led to his impressive outing at the just concluded primary election even though he did not win the contest
He said the ‘Maka Ọdimma Anyị’, a people-first political movement aimed to hold leaders accountable and ensure the delivery of progressive governance to the people.
He told his supporters, political associates, admirers, and well-wishers that the structure was set up to make representation at every level work for the people.
Ozumba said part of the agenda of Maka Ọdimma Anyị was the promotion of open and accessible leadership through Know-Your-Leader forums, regular town halls, and honest reports.
According to him, the movement will also institutionalise integrity by stopping waste and promoting a culture of service without excuses.
“Making leaders accountable requires verifiable action to ensure that every promise is fulfilled with physical evidence, photos, documents, and reports.
“This organisation will push to turn constituency challenges and pain points into bills and advocacy to ensure adequate attention is paid to rural roads, erosion, schools, healthcare, and job creation.
“I believes that collective action driven by the Maka Ọdimma Anyị structure will keep political actors focused on the agenda, track projects, and prepare the next generation of leaders from Njikọka and across Anambra and beyond,” he said
Earlier in his homily, the lead celebrant, Rev. Fr. Jude Ozumba, called on the faithful to appreciate the Solemnity of the Blessed Trinity being commemorated by the Church adding that no human could fathom the mystery of the Blessed Trinity.
The priest cited St. Augustine’s quest to understand the mystery and urged steadfast adherence to the teachings of the Church.
In his remarks, Rev. Fr. Val Uzoezie, the parish priest of St. Francis Catholic Church, ueged Catholic faithful to avoid divisive politics and actions that create enmity.
Fr. Uzoezie thanked the aspirant for bringing supporters, friends, and well-wishers to thank God after his recent contest for the APGA ticket.
He praised Ozumba for maintaining humility and selflessness in politics, noting he has a bright future ahead.
Chief Clement Nwafor, the Odu Nkata Ukwu of Enugwu-Ukwu, who in his vote of thanks commended Ozumba for living up to the true Christian principle of giving thanks to God in all situations, whether in good times or bad times.
Nwafor appreciated God for being in control throughout the rigorous campaign process, which involved constant travel lasting into the night and early morning, and was therefore deserving of all praise.
He thanked APGA faithful who voted for Ozumba and those who did not, and called for unity of purpose to ensure success at the main elections.
