Amamgbo, Anambra Senate Aspirant Dumps Labour Party for ADC
Mr Don-Chidi Amamgbo, an aspirant for the Anambra South Senatorial District election has resigned his membership of the Labour Party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Amamgbo who made the disclosure in a Statement periodically signed by him on Wednesday said the resignation was effective from July 4.
He said he took the decision after a deep personal reflection and extensive consultations with his family, supporters, and political associates.
He attributed his decision to irreconcilable structural failures, internal divisions, and a leadership vacuum which made it impossible to pursue the urgent task of rebuilding our district under its platform.
Amamgbo regretted that the Labour Party, which once held promise had become deeply enmeshed in rancorous legal battles, factional struggles, and a breakdown of trust which threatened to derail the aspirations of millions of Nigerians
“These internal crisis have sadly rendered the party incapable of offering credible direction or leadership to its candidates and supporters.
“I have officially resigned my membership of the Labour Party as of July 4, 2025,
“I have taken the bold step to continue this journey of public service under the umbrella of the ADC,” he said
Amagbo said the ADC represents a party of stability, equity, and innovation, it is a platform where the voice of the people can truly be amplified.
He said he was encouraged by the caliber of patriotic Nigerians who have found a political home in the ADC and invited all his supporters and the entire electorate of Anambra South to join him in his new party and campaign.
“This movement is not about party, it is about the traders in Nnewi, the farmers in Orumba, the artisans in Ihiala, the entrepreneurs in Ekwusigo, Uli, Osumenyi, Oko, and everyone who desires genuine, inclusive, and sustainable change.
“I remain fully committed to our shared dream of prosperity, justice, and impactful representation.
“Together, let us channel our energies, resources, and collective will into building a winning coalit
ion under the ADC,” he said.
