Correspondents’ Chapel Of NUJ Mourns Nweze
The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council, has expressed deep shock over the sudden death of one of its dedicated members, Mr. Alphonsus Nweze.
Nweke died from a lone road crash at Abraka Junction area of Asaba , the Delta capital on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Until his death, Nweze, an alumni of Nigeria Institute of Journalism, Lagos was a seasoned journalist, respected for his professionalism, integrity and unwavering commitment to truth and justice.
Chuks Ilozue and Lucy Osuizigbo-Okechukwu, Chairman and
Secretary respectively of the Chapel said in a Statement that the deceased contributed immensely to the development of journalism in Anambra and beyond through his insightful reports and strong advocacy for social justice.
“Nweze’s passing has created a void that will be difficult to fill, and his legacy of dedication and courage will continue to inspire members.
“The Chapel deeply mourns this painful loss and extends its heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, friends, colleagues and the entire media community.
“We pray that God Almighty grants his soul eternal rest and gives his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable l
oss,” it said.
