Soludo Commiserates Correspondents’ Chapel Over Death Of Member, Nweze
Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has expressed deep condolences to the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra chapter over the death of one of its members, Alphonsus Nweze.
Soludo expressed his feelings in a condolence message signed by Chris Aburime, his Press Secretary on Wednesday.
Nweze, a reporter with Apex News, died in an auto crash on Tuesday , Oct. 7 in Asaba, Delta State capital.
Soludo said Nweze was committed member of the Correspondents’ Chapel, and that losing him in a fatal road was is tragic and painful
He said his death left his family, friends and colleagues with memories of his passion for truth, integrity, and public service through journalism
“We will continue to remember him as a diligent and courageous reporter whose work contributed meaningfully to the information landscape of Anambra.
“Alphonsus Nweze was more than a journalist; he was a voice for the truth and an advocate of responsible reporting.
“His untimely death is not only a loss to his family and colleagues but to our entire state. We will miss him,”
“We pray for the repose of Nweze’s soul and offer prayers of comfort and strength to his bereaved family, friends, and colleagues at Apex News and the Anambra Correspondents’ Chapel during this difficult period,” said.
