Police Sensitise Students Against Cultism In Anambra
The Police Command in Anambra has engaged students in the state in the need to avoid Cultism and other social vices.
ACP Harrison Oruru, the Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Department led the campaign to the Sacred Heart Academy Ifite Ogwari, Ayamelum Local Government Area on Wednesday.
The visit was online with the safe school campaign of the Command under the Community policing and crime prevention strategies initiative.
Oruru, while addressing the students and staff of the school at an interactive session, educated them on the dangers of cultism, drug abuse, bullying, cybercrime, and other social vices.
The Police Officer harped on the importance of vigilance, responsible behaviour, and prompt reporting of suspicious activities in and around the school premises.
He encouraged students to build positive relationships with law enforcement agencies and reassured them of the readiness of the Police to respond swiftly to distress calls and security concerns affecting educational institutions.
The Police boss urged school administrators to strengthen internal security measures and maintain close collaboration with security agencies to proactively address potential threats.
“The Command remains steadfast in its resolve to safeguard schools and create an enabling environment for academic excellence across the State,” he said.
