Akwaokuko Bags 2-Years Jail Sentence, Ambassador For Youth Entrepreneurship
An Anambra High Court, sitting in Awka on Friday sentenced Mr Chidozie Nwangwu also known as Awkwaokuko to two years imprisonment without option of fine.
He was also mandated to be an ambassador for youth empowerment and good behaviour after serving out his jail term.
Justice Jude Obiora delivered the judgement in Awka on Friday after the accused pleaded guilty of all charges against him.
Obiora held that the accused entered a voluntary plea bargain with the Anambra government and waived all fines attracted by the offences.
It said Nwangwu who had been under detention of the Anambra government had served 13 of the 24 months and would serve for another 11 months before regaining freedom.
The court also gave further orders including the destruction of the shrine of the accused with all items within it and that upon release from prison, he should not practice Okeite or administer charms to people again.
It held that Nwangwu must publicly denounce the practice of Okeite on video and published on his social media pages.
It said Nwangwu would now become Ambassador for youths entrepreneurship and social reorientation where he would preach against easy wealth.
The court said the activities should be recorded and filed before the court as proof of compliance
Sylvester Iwuoba, Counsel to Nwangwu said it was a plea bargain judgement which brought the matter to a definite end.
Akwaokuko was arrested alongside Onyebuchi Okocha, popularly known as “Onye Eze” and Ekene Igboekweze, popularly known as Eke Hit.
They were charged with claims of possessing supernatural powers to make money or stagnate destiny, as well as conspiracy to commit felony, kidnapping and obtaining by fraud among others.
