Over 150 Constables In Anambra Command Participate In Combat, Armed Drills Training
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra Command, Mr Ikioye Orutugu has told officers in the Command to always be professional and operational ready as they await their deployment for service within the State.
Orutugu said this while addressing no fewer than 150 constables who are taking part in combat and armed drills training at the Police College Oji River.
He said effective policing required not only numerical strength but also discipline, tactical competence, emotional intelligence, and respect for the rule of law.
Orutugu charged the constables to take their training seriously adding that the evolving security environment demanded officers who were physically fit, mentally alert, professionally, and guided by the principles of accountability and human rights.
“Combat and armed drills training remains critical components in preparing officers to respond decisively and lawfully to emerging threats.
“I want to reassure residents of Anambra of the Command’s unwavering commitment to sustaining safety across communities,” he said.
Meanwhile, activities have commenced at the Combat and Armed Drills Training for Police Constables lectures designed to strengthen their tactical knowledge and professional competence.
The session also featured an interactive engagement with the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Emmanuel Simon Bretet, who addressed the trainees and formally introduced them to the school management and instructors.
The AIG outlined the guidelines for the training and emphasized discipline, professionalism, and dedication throughout the exercise.
The Anambra Police Command has reiterated its commitment to strengthening the security architecture in the state through continuous capacity building and the professional development of personnel.
