New Zik Varsity Directors Assume Duty, Promise Excellent Service Delivery
The six newly appointed directors at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University have assumed duty in their various offices effective Monday, April 20.
A Statement signed by Emeka Attah, the Director of Information and Public Relations of the University who also assumed office says the new directors have effectively taken over from their predecessors.
Attah took over from the outgone Acting Director, Mr Louis Njelita who was represented by the Head of Protocol Unit, Mr Joshua Chukwu.
The Statement which was issued on Tuesday says all the new appointments by the Governing Council of the institutions took effect from April 17.
Prof. Jacinta Eze, assumed office as the University Librarian after a brief handover by the former Acting Librarian, Prof. Onwudinjo in her office.
Dr Jane Ezeonu, the new University Medical Centre took over from Acting Director, Dr Clement Ojukwu while commending her predecessor for his dedication and impactful service
Ezeonu expressed optimism of continued improvements in healthcare delivery within the University.
In the Directorate of Procurement Mr Akuma Ifeanyi took over from Mr Damian Oduche to become the new Director.
Acting Director, Mr Louis Njelita, represented by the Head of Protocol Unit, Mr Joshua Chukwu while Mr Obinna Ibe took over from Mr Joseph Okoye to assume the Directorate of Works Services.
At the Safety Unit, Mr Chinedum Obi took over from Chief Safety Officer, Chief Ken Chukwurah as the new Chief Safety Officer.
Attah described the Directorate as the “face” of the University and charged staff to remain diligent and committed while stressing the need to sustain the university reputation through excellence in information management and public relations.
“Nnamdi Azikiwe University is a great university and the University of all times.
“At this moment in history, we have an excellent management team in the university led by the visionary Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Mr Monsur Olugbenga Kukoyi, who is committed to excellence with his team.
“Our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Stanley Anyaehie has left no one in doubt within a few months in office that he is here to make a great positive difference in administration,” he said.
