Breaking: Residents Doctors set to suspend one week strike action
The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) are set to call off the one week old strike it embarked upon last Monday.
Newsmonitor.com.ng scoop gathered that the decision to suspend the strike was reached at a virtual meeting held by the national leadership of NARD on Saturday.
The association had gone an indefinite industrial action with effect from June 15 to press home their demand for improved and payment of backlog of COVID-19 hazard allowance, better funding for health sector, protection of members against infectious disease among others.

It would be recalled that the federal government said it had released about N4.5 billion to 31 Teaching Hospital for payment of hazard allowance and inducement allowance for the month of April and May.
Consequently, NARD leadership convened an emergency meeting to review the situation and voted overwhelmingly for suspension of the strike and against its continuation.
Formal announcement of suspension of strike and resumption of work is being expected any moment from now.
