AIG Zone 13 Orders Immediate Retrieval Of Unauthorised SPY Number Plates
Mr Mukaddas Garba, Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo, Anambra has ordered the State Commands under the zone to retrieve all unauthorised SPY number plates in circulation.
Garba said this in a Statement issued by DSP Nkiru Nwode, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Zone on Saturday.
Police Zone 13 Headquarters is in charge of Anambra and Enugu states.
The AIG said all legitimately processed and existing vehicle tinted glass permits issued by the Nigeria Police Force within the zone remained valid.
He reiterated that the suspension of issuance of new tinted permit for vehicle owners by IGP Usman Baba was a measure to strengthen security in the region.
Garba enjoined Police officers enforcing the directive to be civil and respect the rights of Nigerians.
“All legitimately processed and existing vehicle tinted glass permits issued by the Nigeria Police Force within the zone stands valid.
“Commissioners of Police in Anambra and Enugu States respectively are directed to give full effect to the directives
“They should ensure that all SPY number plates currently in use by unauthorized users within the Zone are retrieved with immediate effect.
“Suspension of new issuance of tinted permits for vehicle owners will remain active pending the release of a new protocol that would checkmate further issuance.
“While discharging these assignments, officers must ensure the rights and privileges of citizens are respected in line with the laws of the land and in accordance with international best practices and standards.
“The good people of Anambra, Enugu States and the General public are enjoined to cooperate with the police in this regard and to report any infringement of their rights through the zonal emergency number: 08022528055,” he stated.
